Greetings! I hope all of you are having a restful break. Please don't forget to WRITE YOUR BHM ARGUMENTATIVE ESSAY :)
In other news, we will be on BLOCK SCHEDULE when we return in order to participate in a school-wide Mock Milestones Writing assessment. This is the second one we have had this year. Please remember ALL expectations when testing - no talking, complete all work, stay on task, etc .
I have included a copy of the RUBRIC directly from the Georgia Milestones Assessment guide. Please read through it carefully.
BEFORE MONDAY, READ THROUGH YOUR NOTES ON ARGUMENTATIVE WRITING. INCLUDING THE OUTLINE OF AN ARGUMENTATIVE ESSAY :)
What YOU need for the Mock Milestones
•ELA Writing Assessment Packet (given to you on the day of test)
•Scratch paper for pre-writing/drafting
•A positive mind-set
•A book to read, Reading Plus Login info, or another assignment (when done)
It is VERY important that you bring something to work on when you are finished with the assessment.
Since your BHM ESSAY IS DUE THIS WEEK, you should bring your rough drafts to class to revise then type your essay into PEERGRADE.IO. The assignment is posted in PEERGRADE.IO.
Another option is to check SYNERGY for missing work.
Remember: if it is passed the 5 day grace period to be turned in late , you can no longer turn it in.
If it is marked "R" for redo, that means you can redo the assignment. With redo assignments, you only have 5 days to make the grade.
If students are on unauthorized websites on testing days, they will receive an automatic zero, a citation, and a phone call home. Unauthorized websites include, but are not limited to, any gaming websites, music websites (Pandora, etc.), and Google.
The purpose of the Mock Milestones Assessment is to mimic actual testing days to prepare students the best we can for when we test in April.
