We dove back into argumentative writing today as students reviewed the elements of an argumentative essay. Students took notes and discussed the differences between reasons and evidence to support an argument. Students practiced tracing an argument essay by identifying each element of the essay: hook, claim, background information, reasons, evidence, bridges, counterclaims, turn-back, and call to action.
