Today, students learned about the two types of eclipses: solar and lunar. Students learned a new reading strategy called Jigsaw. In groups, students divided the article in small sections and assigned a section to each member of the group. Once each member read their section silently to themselves, they shared with their group members the important parts about their section. After reading the article, students answered 4 multiple choice questions and wrote a summary of the whole article in 3-4 sentences.
During 5th period, students were able to witness a TOTAL solar eclipse! This was such a rewarding experience for us all. I am so thankful to share such a special moment with my students!
Below is the article and multiple choice questions that was given. If you were ABSENT, you have till TOMORROW to make the assignment up. If you have any questions about the make-up work policy, please read the policy in your syllabus.
