I have posted part 3 of Task 5 in your One Note Class Notebook. This week you will be working on your autobiography. You will find the details below. If you have questions, please reach out to me.
Grades - Please see the message sent through Parent/Student VUE
An autobiography is an account of a person's life written by that person. In Part 2, you wrote brief biographies about three poets you chose to research. Before writing your own poetry, you will write an autobiography for others (me) to understand your life to make deeper connections to the original poetry you will write in part 4 of your Poetry Anthology
Timeline of Events
Before you begin writing out your life's story, I would like you to talk to several family members about earlier memories that you may not recall. This will help with writing about your very early years of life. You will create a timeline of events that you will include in your autobiography. You will write about four major events, so keep that in mind when you are creating your timeline.
See below for some events to ask your relatives about. You do NOT have to include everything listed below
> Early Years:
your birth day
the very first thing you remember happening
your first toys
started to walk
when you began school (What was your kindergarten teacher’s name?)
the first book you read by yourself
the year you learned to ride a bike, ice skate, play a musical instrument, swim or whistle a train, plane, or car ride somewhere special
the time you broke your arm or had an accident and how it happened
the year your voice changes or you grew really fast
when you met your best friend
the first movie, baseball game, concert, or play you attended
when your first tooth fell out
special events when you finished elementary school
first trip to a special place like the zoo, circus, or state fair
> Later Years:
Favorite memory with a friend
Getting a pet
Putting it all together
Now that you have completed a brief timeline of events in your life, you will begin writing your autobiography in paragraph form. There are no paragraph restrictions. I want you to focus on your autobiography not as a school assignment, but a dedication and remembrance of important things in your life.
Please include the following details (in order) in your autobiography:
Your autobiography should be personal to you. It will only be read by me.
EXAMPLE (Posted in OneNote) – Below is my autobiography. My autobiography will be different from yours because every person's life is different and each of our experiences are different. Please do not feel that you have to include anything that I include below. I am taking this time to share parts of my life that I don't typically share will others. By sharing some of my fondest memories and heartaches, I hope that you will share your life story with me.
